APR have extended their unbeaten streak to nine games in Rwanda Basketball League, with an 86-59 thumping victory over UGB on Wednesday night at Petit Stade.
Adonis Filer, who recently recovered from an Achilles tendon injury, led the way on the night as the point guard seized a game-high 22 points, five rebounds, and six assists.
William Robeyns and Aliou Diarra contributed 11 and 14 points, respectively, with the latter recording the game-best 14 rebounds.
Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza and Justin Uwitonze also had double digits as they registered 11 points apiece.
Mohamed Doumbya dropped a double-double, with the most points and rebounds for UGB. The Senegalese player scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and dished out four assists.
With the triumph, APR stayed at the top of the league standings with 18 points from nine games. The league holder will return to league actions on Friday, 21 March, taking on Tigers at BK Arena at 6:30 p.m. Kigali time.
On the other hand, REG edged Espoir 91-87 thanks to Jean Jacques Boissy's game-best 31 points.
The Rwanda Energy Group-owned outfit dominated the game throughout the first three quarters, but Espoir appeared to bounce back in the final quarter when they reduced the deficit to two points with one minute remaining.
However, Boissy stepped up yet again and fired REG to a win in the crunch.
