Rwanda’s U18 men’s national basketball team has lost its third group-stage game at the 2026 FIBA U18 AfroBasket, ongoing in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, leaving them with no victories in all three Group C games.

Rwanda started their campaign with a heavy 78–38 defeat to Senegal in their opening game.

The young Rwandan side showed improvement in its second matchup but still fell to Cameroon 76–58.

Despite reducing the deficit and remaining competitive in their third group-stage game, Rwanda lost 60–53 to Tunisia, finishing the group stage with an 0–3 record.

Against Tunisia, Plamedie Kayira led Rwanda with 11 points, while Hugo Victor Ngabonziza added 10 points in the hard-fought defeat.

Rwanda’s final Group C game against Tunisia was a much closer contest, as they fought back strongly after trailing 16–6 in the opening quarter and went into halftime down 28–24.

Rwanda had been drawn in Group C alongside Senegal, Cameroon and Tunisia, with the tournament featuring 12 teams divided into three groups.
