French cyclist Fabien Doubey has been crowned the Tour du Rwanda 2025 winner on Sunday, 2 March, following the abandonment of the final stage due to weather conditions.

The TotalEnergies rider, 31, claimed the 2.1-rated race after the 74-km stage seven was stopped with one lap to go after weather conditions sparked slippery roads in Kigali.

Following a lengthy discussion, Tour du Rwanda decided to consider the overall classification standings from stage six to determine the winner of Tour du Rwanda's 17th edition, with Doubey securing the glory after regaining the yellow jersey on Saturday.

"Due to unforeseen weather conditions causing slippery roads, the riders have decided to halt the final stage of the Tour du Rwanda with one lap to go," Tour du Rwanda said in a statement.

"The General Classification standings from the previous stage (Stage 6) has been considered to determine the overall winner of Tour du Rwanda 2025."

Doubey finished the race with 19 hours, 35 minutes, and 12 seconds, six seconds ahead of Henok Mulubrhan, who finished second and clocked the Best African award.

Oliver Mattheis of Bike Aid emerged third, 11 seconds adrift overall winner, Doubey, whilst Lotto Development Team's Milan Donie, who was named the Best Young Rider, came in fourth place, 12 seconds behind Doubey.

Rwanda's Vainqueur Masengesho, who was awarded the Best Rwandan Rider, finished seventh, 51 seconds behind Doubey.

Didier Munyaneza of Team Rwanda scooped the Best Sprinter award, while Java-Inovotec Pro Team's Shemu Nsengiyumva walked away with the Best Climber award. Bike Aid was awarded the Best Team of the race.
