Nahom Araya clinched the penultimate stage of Tour du Rwanda 2025 on Saturday afternoon, while Fabien Doubey regained the overall lead's yellow jersey.

The Eritrean rider grasped the lead in the final kilometre and held it to the finish line to win the 131.5-km route that started in Nyanza and finished at Kigali's Canal Olympia.

He clocked stage six in Nyanza, using three hours, nine minutes, and 23 seconds, and climbed to 13th in the general classification, a minute and 30 seconds adrift of the leader

Moise Mugisha emerged fifth in stage six, the best finish a Rwandan rider attained during the 17th edition, as the Team Rwanda rider came 22 seconds behind Araya.

Fabien Doubey has re-grabbed the yellow jersey, thanks to his fourth finish today, 14 seconds off stage-six winner Araya.

The French cyclist, riding for TotalEnergies, has used 19 hours, 35 minutes, and 12 seconds after 765.9 kilometres of six stages and a prologue.

Rwanda's Vainqueur Masengesho has plunged into seventh spot in the general classification, sitting 51 seconds behind the overall leader, Doubey, after finishing tenth today.

The Tour du Rwanda 2025 victor will be determined by the final stage on Sunday, 2 March, with the race starting and finishing at Kigali Convention Center in a 74-km circuit.

The grand finale on Sunday will also offer a preview of the World Championships to take place in Kigali in September as the peloton will race the UCI test event, the dress rehearsal, on the same course during the seventh and final stage of Tour du Rwanda 2025.
