APR made a statement in the aftermath of their fans' outcry over the scoring drought by beating Bugesera 2-0 on Wednesday evening, lifting them into sixth place in the Rwanda Premier League table.
Mohamadou Lamine Bah's tap-in and Ramadan Niyibizi's penalty put Francis Haringingo's future at Bugesera in jeopardy.
Bugesera have just registered one win in the league this season, a 2-1 win over Kiyovu Sports on 26 October, drawn five times and lost four.
With the defeat, the Bugesera-based dropped to 15th spot, levelling on points with Etincelles, with eight points from 10 games.
The Malian attacker poked home in the 39th minute after Niyibizi missed a one-on-one chance against Bugesera goalkeeper Didier Mfashingabo in a rain-soaked match at Kigali Pele Stadium.
The visitors were unfortunate to lose Mfashingabo in the 50th minute after the shot-stopper collided with APR striker Mamadou Sy, forcing him to be stretchered off the pitch with a head injury.
Niyibizi doubled the lead in the 78th minute from the spot after Mac Arthur Arakaza, who had replaced injured Mfashingabo, tripped Arsene Tuyisenge in the area, and match official Abdoul Twagiramukiza instantly pointed at the spot.
The Rwandan forward sent Arakaza the wrong way to propel the hosts to an emphatic 2-0 win.
APR are now sixth in the league standings with 14 points, nine points behind leader Rayon Sports from seven matches, with three games in hand.
The league holder will play their next five matches in two weeks, starting with AS Kigali on Sunday, 1 December.
