APR suffered another damaging blow in their title bid on Friday night at Kigali Pele Stadium, as Gasogi United held them to a goalless draw.

Darko Novic's team had an opportunity yet again to snatch the top position in the Rwanda Premier League table for the first time this season, but they faltered, failing to find the back of the net in two straight matches.

They entered the game knowing that a victory tonight would see them plunge into the top spot, above their bitter rival, Rayon Sports.

However, the home team kept them at bay, achieving what they described as "revenge."

The league holder have drawn six games, lost three, and won 12 in the league this season. They stayed in second place in the league standings, sitting on 42 points from 21 games, one point adrift of Rayon Sports, who will play their matchday 21 fixture tomorrow against AS Kigali.

Ghyslain Tchiamas's side are ninth in the table with 26 points from 21 matches, eight points ahead of the relegation zone.

Gasogi United were recently knocked out of the Peace Cup by APR in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 aggregate deficit.

The club president, Charles Kakooza Nkuriza, expressed his frustration regarding the refereeing during the post-match interview, saying it was a robbery. "APR didn't eliminate us; the referee did," said Kakooza Nkuriza.
