after his winning goal celebration against Rutsiro, where he took off his shorts and was sent off later.

While speaking exclusively to B&B Kigali, the Ghanaian defender said: “It’s not like I wanted to disrespect the country, no. I heard a lot of people saying I take drugs and I am stupid, I’m not going to reply to any insults, the only thing I want to say is sorry.”

“I don’t know what was going through my mind because we were 2-0 down, but we came, and I scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute. I didn’t even know what I did,” he added.

“When the referee gave me the red card, I said no problem because I had sacrificed for the club, but something came to mind: I have to say sorry to the Rwandans, the Rwanda Premier League board, and the teams.”

B&B Kigali's Eddy Abayisenga sat down with Yakubu as the defender discussed his ambitions with Police FC, settling in Rwandan football, challenges, and more.
