Rayon Sports and APR played out a scoreless draw on Saturday, December 7, in a Rwanda Premier League's rescheduled match, which marked the first Rwandan derby that takes place at the revamped Amahoro Stadium.
The two sides had squandered several significant scoring opportunities in the first half before playing out a dull second half.
APR produced three clear-cut scoring chances in the first half, including Ramadan Niyibizi's freekick that hit the post in the 18th minute and Mamadou's shot from close range that was stopped by Khadim Ndiaye in the 37th minute.
Meanwhile, Fall Ngagne missed a one-on-one chance in the 17th minute when Hakim Bugingo delivered a mind-blowing long pass but the Senegalese striker chipped the ball off target as the hosts created two big chances in the first half, which ended in a nail-biting 0-0 tie.
Neither team created big chances in the second half, forcing the fans packed the 45,000-seat Amahoro Stadium to watch a goalless contest.
Rayon Sports are seven points clear at the top of the league table, sitting on 30 points from 12 games. Meanwhile, APR are fifth with 19 points from 10 matches.
