Hadji Iraguha netted a brace to propel Rayon Sports to a dismantling 4-0 victory in a Day 8 clash of Rwanda Premier League held at Kigali Pele Stadium on Saturday evening.
Four second-half goals from Iraguha, Fall Ngagne and Adama Bagayogo ended Rayon's five-year win drought against Kiyovu in the league.
With this triumph, Robertinho's side plunged into the second spot in the league's table with 14 points, a point behind leader Police.
The two teams failed to break the deadlock in the first half despite producing some scoring chances. Nevertheless, Mosengwo Tansele's goal was ruled out as the Congolese forward fouled Rayon's Omar Gning before scoring.
Things changed drastically in the second half, with Iraguha putting the hosts in front in the 56th minute, striking a 30-yard stunner to spark wild celebrations at the nearly-packed Kigali Pele Stadium.
Iraguha doubled the lead in the 75th minute after Bagayogo's strike was punched by Kiyovu shot-stopper Djihad Nzeyirwanda, but the Rwandan winger sprinted towards the ball and finished it into the back corner of the net.
With Rayon's utter dominance, two minutes later, Fall Ngagne made it three after Kevin Muhire's fine pass. Iraguha almost hit the hat-trick when his powerful shot hit the crossbar in the 79th minute.
Bagayogo rounded off Rayon's emphatic triumph with a long-range screamer in stoppage time.
It is reported that every Rayon Sports player will receive Rwf240 thousand as a bonus for the win.
Kiyovu Sports, who were led by assistant coach Ayubu Sebarera as their head coach Joslin Bipfubusa was handed a four-match suspension due to dreadful results, stay in the rock-bottom position in the standings with three points after seven league games.
The Mumena-based outfit have lost their previous six matches.
