APR Volleyball Club trounced Police 3-1 at the packed Petit Stade on Friday night, 24 January, to bring the Rwanda National Police-owned side's undefeated streak to an upsetting end.
Fred Musoni's team were visibly resolved in the first set, which they claimed by a 25-18 score over APR.
Nevertheless, they were narrowly beaten 25-23 in a nail-biting second set. Dogged APR extended their advantage in the third set, clinching it with a 25-21 victory.
Police attempted to rally and level the game in the fourth set, but they choked in the crunch as APR racked up 25-23 to wrap up a 3-1 triumph and break Fred Musoni's side's unbeaten run in Rwanda's Volleyball National League.
In the women's category, on the other hand, Police thrashed APR 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-20).
